  • If you don't feel like walking today, simply get dressed - put your sneakers on and walk out to the front gate. Once you have made it this far you will probably feel like pressing on.
  • Vary your exercise routine to keep it interesting.
  • Try to include others in your exercise, join a walking group, an aqua-aerobics class etc.. or invite friends to come along with you. Make your exercise fun and social.
  • Walk instead of driving - it's better for our environment too!
  • Park a little further away from the front door of your destination, and do that little bit of extra leg work - it all adds up!
  • Take the stairs instead of the lift or escalator.
  • Hoist your clothes-line slightly higher than usual so you can do that bit of extra exercise reaching up to the clothes.
  • Use a gyro ball! Great for wrist and forearm strength and lots of fun to do!
  • Notice how you feel after doing exercise!! Pay attention to your body. With time you will start to notice that you feel more energised and refreshed, and your mind more focused. Exercise releases happy chemicals in your brain and this is a great way to release stress and relieve feelings of mild depression.
  • Sweating helps to remove toxins from your body. Your skin is the largest eliminatory organ that you have!
  • After exercising, avoid treating yourself with high-calorie foods. You don't want to undo all that hard work! Instead, pamper yourself with a long hot salt bath and give your skin a great exfoliation with a loofer or brush.
