XNDO Science
How It Works

Xndo has taken years of research to develop, and has been created by a team of international experts, led by Dr Victor Ong, who specialises in obesity and weight management.

Many of today’s weight loss programs focus on an immediate or short term ‘slimming’. Xndo is different; we focus on gradual and sustainable weight loss that gives lasting results. We help people achieve their ideal weight by examining their life and lifestyle needs and tailoring a unique program based on their dietary, behavioural and fitness requirements.

Six Weight Management Indicators.

We know that everyone’s body is different, so we highlight 6 weight management indicators of overweight and obese conditions that should be measured and controlled in order to give lasting weight management results. These indicators are either measured as part of the initial consultation process, or controlled in your tailored weight management plan.

The Six Weight Management Indicators are:

1. BMI = BODY MASS INDEX

The Xndo Weight Management program encourages a normal range BMI classification.

BMI is a basic indicator for weight management that moves up or down as energy surpluses or deficits occur in a person’s diet. Therefore, knowing one’s BMI allows a person to check if their weight is moving closer or further away from its ideal range.

2. TRANS FATS

Trans fat increases the bad cholesterol (LDL) and decreases good cholesterol (HDL). By excluding foods containing trans fat (often labeled on food as "partially hydrogenated vegetable oil" or "vegetable shortening") you will have better success with your weight management and improve your health. Some examples of foods that contain trans fat include: margarine, biscuits, chocolate bars, potato chips, ice cream, deep-fried foods, salad dressing, and many other processed foods.

3. OMEGA-3 TO OMEGA-6 RATIO

Omega-3 and Omega-6 are essential fatty acids that are important for your immune system. It is important to balance the ratio of Omega-3 to Omega-6 fatty acids. As our modern diets are already high in Omega-6 (vegetable oil), try to increase your Omega-3 intake by eating fish, walnuts or flaxseed oil.

4. LIPID PROFILE

The Xndo Weight Management Program encourages being aware of your Lipid Profile.

A lipid profile will measure your 'good' and 'bad' cholesterols including, HDL cholesterol, LDL cholesterol and triglycerides. The results can help determine future health ricks including heart disease.

5. HYPERPHAGIA

The term Hyperphagia refers to excessive hunger and overeating (very large meals and/or frequent snacking between meals). Your Xndo Practitioner can develop a weight management program to help control this.

6. HYPERCALORIFICATION

Hypercalorification is the excessive and often hidden intake of calories from energy-rich foods or drinks, leading to subtle weight gain over time. Try to avoid the "empty calories" from drinks such as soft drinks, fruit juices and alcohol and from salad dressings, gravies and sauces.
